How we test, repair and verify.
We publish our method so you can judge the work before you hire us, and so any finding we report can be checked independently.

1. Scope
We list every page and template on your website and agree the scope in writing. Every page receives automated testing. Manual testing covers each unique template, every form and every step of key journeys such as booking, contact and checkout.
2. Automated testing
Automated tools reliably detect a portion of WCAG failures, such as missing text alternatives, missing form labels and insufficient colour contrast. We run them on every page at desktop and mobile widths and record the results. Automated testing alone cannot show that a site meets WCAG, which is why the manual phase follows.
3. Manual testing
- Keyboard. Every interactive element is operated without a mouse, checking focus order and visible focus (2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.4.3, 2.4.7).
- Screen readers. Key pages and journeys are tested with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS (1.1.1, 1.3.1, 4.1.2).
- Zoom and reflow. Pages are checked at 200% text size and at 320 CSS pixels wide (1.4.4, 1.4.10).
- Colour and contrast. Text, icons, input borders and focus indicators are measured against the required ratios (1.4.3, 1.4.11), and we confirm that colour is never the only way information is shown (1.4.1).
- Forms. Labels, instructions, error identification and suggestions (1.3.5, 3.3.1, 3.3.2, 3.3.3).
- Media and motion. Captions, audio description needs, and pause controls for moving content (1.2.x, 2.2.2).
4. Reporting
Each finding records the WCAG success criterion, a severity rating, the page and element, a screenshot, and the recommended fix. Severity reflects the effect on users: High blocks a task, Medium makes a task significantly harder, and Low causes minor difficulty. See the sample report.
5. Remediation principles
- Compliance first. Every fix must fully meet the relevant criterion. We do not trade accessibility for appearance.
- Least visible change second. Among fixes that comply, we choose the one that changes your design the least. For colour, that usually means a slightly darker or lighter shade of the same colour.
- No overlays. We repair the site itself. We never rely on overlay widgets or toolbars.
- Transparency. Every visible change is listed and shown to you before it goes live.
6. Verification
After remediation we repeat the automated and manual tests, confirm that each finding is resolved, and check that no new issues were introduced. You receive the final report, an accessibility statement and the compliance pack.
